Where Jobber is genuinely strong
Most comparisons frame this as small versus large. That is the wrong axis. A four-truck commercial cutting outfit and a forty-truck lawn care company are nothing alike operationally, and the software that suits them differs for reasons that have nothing to do with headcount.
All of this is on Jobber's own pricing page, checked August 2026. It is not hidden. It is just that almost nobody prices it correctly on the first pass.
Office staff, estimators and the owner all need logins. Tiers sit at 1, 5, 10 and 15 users, and every user beyond your tier is $29 a month on any plan.
A ten-person operation on a five-user tier is paying five times $29 on top of the plan.
Annual prepaid is the advertised price. Core is $29 a month prepaid annually and $49 month to month. Grow runs $149 to $399 prepaid against $199 to $499 without commitment.
Flexibility costs roughly two thirds more on the entry tier.
Marketing Suite is $79 a month, Pipeline is $49, AI Receptionist is $29. Whether you need them depends on what you are replacing elsewhere.
These are separate line items on every tier, not upgrades within one.
Jobber publishes 2.9% plus 30 cents for card, 2.7% plus 30 cents for tap to pay, and 1% for bank payments. Flat rates, set by the platform.
On a commercial average ticket, the gap between a flat rate and an interchange-plus rate is usually the largest single number in this whole comparison.
These are not gaps in Jobber. They are requirements that do not exist in the job shape it was built for, which is why they were never built.
Commercial work is priced from what you found, not from a phone description. On a multi-building property each building carries its own findings, photos and scope, and the proposal has to hold them separately.
A commercial scope dispute six months on is settled by what was signed and when. Approval by email reply is not a record, it is a search of an inbox.
A job that runs four months is not invoiced once at the end. Progress billing, retainage and draw schedules are the normal case in commercial, and spreadsheets are the usual substitute.
JHAs, toolbox talks, near-miss logs, incident reports and vehicle inspections are compliance obligations on commercial sites, with real consequences for not producing them.
Jobber capabilities are taken from its own published pricing and feature pages, checked August 2026. Where we could not confirm something it is marked rather than assumed.

The part Jobber structurally cannot match
Not a configuration toggle or a workaround. Actual development against your workflow, in the platform you already use, released to your account. It is the reason a contractor picks a smaller vendor over a mature one, and it is worth being precise about how it works and what it costs you.
One commercial roofing customer runs an inspection workflow built specifically for them: their own report structure, per-building caution blocks, their section ordering, and report themes locked to their brand that no other tenant can select. Smaller requests move faster. Job-type-scoped task lists on daily time cards and a foreman confirmation step before hours reach payroll were specified and built over one weekend.
Jobber's routing, mobile polish and marketing suite exist because a very large user base pays for them. A product company serving thousands of contractors from one codebase cannot ship a feature for one of them. Your request joins a roadmap and competes with everyone else's, which is the correct decision for their business and a structural limit for yours.
Below the bespoke tier, a lot is already yours to set: which modules are switched on, a permission matrix of full, view or hidden per module and per role, your own custom fields, your pricebook, your document templates, and proposals and reports rendered with your branding rather than ours. Report themes come in three kinds: shared, granted to everyone on your industry pack, or locked to your brand alone.
A vendor small enough to build for you is also small enough to have fewer integrations, a smaller community and less training material than the incumbents. Requests are scoped and prioritised rather than unlimited, and custom development is a top-tier arrangement, not something on every plan. If what you need is depth of third-party integration, the mature platforms win that and we will say so.
We would rather you close this page than start a migration that was wrong from the beginning.
