Two charcoal-grey architectural shingle samples lying side by side on weathered plywood roof decking, photographed from directly above in raking light, identical in colour and granule texture except for their tab cutouts, which are narrow and squared off on one and wide and tapered on the other.

TL;DR: These two have converged. Supplier ordering, financing, hail data and branded payments are now at parity, and several differences the comparison articles still cite are stale. What separates them in September 2026 is narrow: AccuLynx names supplements and permit tracking and offers more measurement providers; JobNimbus owns SumoQuote and pulls in Xactimate claims, though only on its legacy financials. Neither publishes a price.

The one-sentence answer: If you run Canadian jobs, JobNimbus Payments is unavailable to you and that decides it; otherwise pick AccuLynx if supplements and permit tracking are your bottleneck, and JobNimbus if you need Xactimate claims pulled in and can live on its legacy financials.

Most comparisons of these two are built on differences that no longer exist.

We checked both products against their own documentation on September 11, 2026. The gap that made this an easy decision three years ago has mostly closed. Supplier ordering is identical. Financing is a wash, and so is hail data. Payments, long cited as an AccuLynx advantage, no longer is.

We build a competing platform and say so plainly, which is a reason to check the source links rather than take our word for it. Every claim below cites one of the two vendors' own pages.

What changed since the comparisons you have been reading

Three things, and the second comes with a restriction almost nobody reports.

Beacon no longer exists as a separate integration. QXO completed its acquisition of Beacon Roofing Supply on April 29, 2025, in a transaction valued at roughly $11 billion. JobNimbus's support documentation, still filed under the Beacon integration, now describes ordering from QXO. If you are reading a comparison that lists Beacon as a JobNimbus advantage, it predates April 2025 and you should discount the rest of it.

JobNimbus connects to Xactimate, with a catch that matters. JobNimbus documents a Xactimate and XactAnalysis integration, five articles deep. Xactimate is the estimating platform most carriers work in; XactAnalysis is the assignment and claim-status network alongside it. AccuLynx documents no Xactimate integration anywhere on its site.

Read the mechanics before you weight this. The integration imports completed claims rather than syncing live estimates: "Once a claim is in a complete status in Xactimate, it flows through XactAnaylsis and then can be requested in JobNimbus," landing in the document section of the contact or job. And there is a restriction stated plainly in the same documentation: "Please be aware that Xactimate is only compatible with JobNimbus legacy financials."

That last sentence is the one to ask about on a demo. If you are a new customer being sold current financials, confirm in writing whether this integration is available to you at all.

Both now run payments under their own brand. AccuLynx has AccuPay. JobNimbus has JobNimbus Payments, taking cards and ACH with next-business-day deposits. Comparisons describing JobNimbus as routing payments only to a third party are out of date, though it does also integrate Global Payments. Neither company states publicly which acquirer sits behind its branded product, which is normal and worth asking about.

Insurance work splits in two, and they each win half

This distinction is worth the whole article, because insurance restoration is two different jobs and each product is better at one of them.

Getting the carrier's claim into your system is the first job. JobNimbus connects to Xactimate through XactAnalysis for exactly that, subject to the legacy-financials restriction above. If your estimator already works in Xactimate and someone is retyping completed claims into a CRM, that integration is a reason to look at JobNimbus, and AccuLynx documents nothing equivalent.

Chasing the money afterwards is the second job. AccuLynx names it in the product: permits, supplements, and mortgage check tracking, handled inside the job file (AccuLynx, retrieved September 11, 2026). Mortgage check tracking is the telling one. It exists because the mortgage company is a party to the payment and somebody in your office is chasing an endorsement, which is a back-office reality most CRMs ignore. JobNimbus's help centre documents no supplements or permits module.

Claim intake, JobNimbus, if you can get it. Collection and supplements, AccuLynx, with no caveat attached. Ask which half your company actually loses time on. Most shops know the answer immediately.

Aerial measurement: AccuLynx, by less than usually claimed

AccuLynx orders from six providers: EagleView, Hover, Geospan, GAF QuickMeasure, RoofSnap and RoofScope. JobNimbus documents four: EagleView, Hover, RoofScope and ArcSite.

Six against four is a real lead rather than a rout. It matters if you switch providers by job type or by market, and it matters nowhere else. Both have EagleView and Hover, which covers most roofing companies most of the time.

Supplier ordering: a tie, with one shared caveat

Both order from ABC Supply, SRS Distribution and QXO.

The caveat applies to both and is worth understanding before you rely on either for estimate accuracy. JobNimbus's documentation states that a QXO catalog "will generate for your market only," and that "the pricing is the most recent QXO pricing when the order is placed." The number in your estimate is not locked until the order goes in. Build your margin assuming that.

Payments: the clearest decision rule here

Both run payment processing under their own brand. One has a hard geographic limit we have not seen surfaced in any other comparison.

JobNimbus's documentation states: "JobNimbus Payments is currently exclusive to customers in the United States. While processing for Canada is not available at this time, it may be a possibility in the future."

If you are a Canadian roofer, that settles the payments question before you look at anything else. You would be running JobNimbus with payments handled outside it, which removes one of the main reasons to consolidate onto a single platform.

We run a payment processing ISO, so treat our enthusiasm for built-in payments with appropriate suspicion. The neutral version: processing bundled into the CRM is more convenient and harder to leave. Ask both vendors what the effective rate works out to on your actual card mix, and what happens to the integration if you move processors later.

Extensibility: JobNimbus, on packaging rather than capability

Both publish API documentation openly. JobNimbus documents an Open API with API keys and access profiles that scope what a key can reach. AccuLynx publishes developer docs at apidocs.acculynx.com.

The difference is what it costs to switch on. AccuLynx states that "you must enable the AppConnections add-on to access select third-party app connections as well as AccuLynx API keys," and that add-on is enabled from the Add-Ons section of the AccuLynx Market. JobNimbus's documentation states no equivalent add-on requirement for creating an API key.

So this is a packaging difference, not a capability one. If you plan to build against either, ask what the add-on costs before you compare anything else.

Pricing: neither, and stop looking

AccuLynx does not publish pricing. The page at acculynx.com/pricing is headed "Get AccuLynx Pricing" and is a lead capture form with a phone number.

JobNimbus pricing could not be verified for this article. Their marketing site would not load for us during research, returning a content-delivery error rather than the pricing page, so we could not read it at source. It may well load for you. What we are not willing to do is quote a figure we could not confirm: the third-party numbers in circulation contradict each other badly, with one directory publishing specific base-plan figures in 2026 and another stating in the same year that JobNimbus does not publish dollar prices at all. We will not launder a directory's guess into a number you might plan around.

The useful advice is therefore not a price comparison. It is a list of what to make them put in writing:

  • Your real seat count, with the per-user cost above the included tier
  • Whether seats can be reduced mid-term or only at renewal
  • The contract length, and whether the rate is locked for that term
  • What the payment processing rate works out to on your card mix
  • What happens to your data and your integrations if you leave

Roofing is seasonal. A per-user price that is comfortable with twelve crew in July is a different number with five in January, and the renewal clause is where that gets decided.

The overall pick

Canadian, and payments matter: AccuLynx, because JobNimbus Payments is not available to you. The same country gap decides much of our Jobber vs JobNimbus comparison.

Xactimate claims are your intake bottleneck: JobNimbus, provided it will run on the financials you are being sold. Get that confirmed before you sign.

Supplements and permit chasing are your bottleneck, or you order measurements from more than one provider, or you run Sage Intacct: AccuLynx.

None of the above: the feature comparison will not decide this, because on everything else they have converged. Pick on which one your production manager can run a Monday morning in, and on which quote comes back reasonable. Adoption beats features in year one, every time.

Where this advice fails

Three places, and the third is the one worth reading.

It fails on price, since we could not verify either. If one quote lands at twice the other for your seat count, that outranks every verdict above.

It fails on commercial work. Both companies market heavily to residential and insurance restoration roofers, and the features they document reflect that. Commercial roofing runs on inspection reports, multi-building scopes, progress draws and subcontractor compliance documents. Neither documents that shape of work in depth. If that is your business, ask both to demonstrate it specifically rather than trusting a comparison written for residential shops, this one included.

It fails when your process is the asset.

AccuLynx describes "thousands of contractors who use AccuLynx." JobNimbus documents integrations with two dozen named partners plus Zapier. Those are genuine strengths, and they are also the constraint. A product company serving thousands of roofers from one codebase cannot ship a change for one of them. That is arithmetic rather than attitude, and no amount of goodwill from a customer success rep changes it.

If your process is close to standard, that constraint costs you nothing and you should buy one of these two. Most roofing companies should.

Some shops do not have a standard process, and the non-standard part is where the margin lives. The usual options there have been to reshape the process around the software, or to bolt a fourth tool onto the side and reconcile by hand.

There is a third option, and we build it. On My ClickWerxs, every tenant onboarded to date has received custom-built workflows as part of onboarding. Dated examples from this year: a homeowner drawing-review module went from threat model to production in thirteen days, July 11 to July 21, 2026; job-type-scoped cost codes with a foreman confirmation layer on daily time cards were specified and built over a single weekend on August 2, 2026; a guided call-intake module and a component-based shower takeoff were built for a flooring tenant during onboarding on August 6, 2026.

Those are shipped dates from our own repository rather than estimates. They are evidence of how we work, not a commitment to a timeline on your project. Custom work is scoped and prioritised, and what any given build takes depends on what it is.

The trade runs both ways and you should weigh it honestly. A vendor small enough to build for you is a vendor with fewer named integrations and less roofing-specific history than either company above has accumulated. If six measurement providers and a decade of refinement are why you are buying, buy from them.

Frequently Asked Questions

If JobNimbus owns SumoQuote, do I have to buy both?

No, but the ownership matters for a different reason. Proposal tooling you depend on is safer inside the product than across a contract boundary with a third party that could be acquired or could deprecate its integration. JobNimbus announced the SumoQuote acquisition on January 29, 2024, so that risk now sits internal to the product.

Can I run either one with QuickBooks Desktop rather than Online?

JobNimbus documents both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. AccuLynx lists QuickBooks and adds Sage Intacct. The question worth asking on a demo is not whether the integration exists but which direction it syncs, and what happens when an invoice is edited on one side after syncing. That is where reconciliation problems start, and it is rarely covered unless you ask.

How long should a migration between roofing CRMs actually take?

Longer than the vendor estimates, because the slow work is yours rather than theirs: cleaning data, deciding which historical jobs come across, and getting crews to stop opening the old app. The full export-and-cutover sequence is in how to switch roofing software without losing your data.

Does either one handle subcontractor compliance documents?

JobNimbus documents subcontractors as a contact type rather than as a compliance module. AccuLynx does not describe certificate-expiry tracking, lien waivers or retainage on its features page either. Neither absence proves the capability is missing, so if chasing expired insurance certificates is a weekly task in your office, ask for a specific demonstration of it rather than assuming a contact record covers it.

Two good products that were easy to tell apart three years ago and are not any more. The differences that remain are narrow, specific, and mostly about which integration you already depend on.
